There’s a reason why we have a mouth

Here’s the picture,

I was late for a team project meeting and I wasn’t sure what was to be executed during the day. Furthermore, my team mates used their mother tongue not once nor twice, but occasionally. That I can close one eye because I could understand bits and pieces of their conversation but worst to come, they do it for project discussions too. It’s not just this meeting, it happened for all previous meetings. In extreme cases, the project instructor conversed in mandarin too.

Oh boy, I never felt so exlcuded in my life before. If anything that I have to worry much, it’s my final year project.

If somebody would ask me a question of what my team is currently doing, imagine my reply would be…

“Oh, I’m not sure.”

I’m digressing the fact that no matter what alien language or extreme situations that I, or anyone in a matter of fact, did you have the intitiative to convey your doubts?

We must have initiative. It is then, that all doubts or false perception can be iradicated. We have to speak up to let the others know how we feel and thus, perhaps, they can change to make the situation for the better. If not, at least, you’ve tried.

As for me, I’ve clarified my doubts after the meeting and that I conclude it is due to a communication breakdown. So no point accusing each other.

It’s time to speak up!
